Glendale, CA (April 3, 2017) – Shant Sahakian today announced that Crescenta Valley Town Councilmember Harry Leon has endorsed his campaign for Glendale School Board District D.

“Shant Sahakian is a proven community leader who will make a great Glendale School Board Member,” said Crescenta Valley Town Councilmember Harry Leon. “His vision for a 21st century public education is going to help our students be ready for the future workforce. I am proud to endorse him for Glendale School Board District D.”

Harry Leon was first elected to the Crescenta Valley Town Council in 2010 and served as the Vice President in 2014. As a Town Councilmember, he works to promote the quality of life in La Crescenta. Leon is involved in several community organizations including the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) and Sheriff Department Community Relations Committee. He serves as a committee member for the Korean and Armenian Cultural Festival Committee, Chairman for the Crescenta Valley Prayer Breakfast, Chairman for the Crescenta Valley Outreach Committee, and a volunteer with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Shant Sahakian is a proud parent, lifelong resident of Glendale, and product of Glendale public schools who is running for Glendale School Board District D. He is an accomplished entrepreneur and a longtime community leader. Over the years, Shant has volunteered for local organizations that support Glendale’s youth, enhance the city’s public services, and serve the most vulnerable in the community. He is a graduate of CSUN and UCLA Extension. He and his wife, Suzanna, live and work in the City of Glendale and are the proud parents of their young son, Raffi Sebastian.

Election Day is on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 and polling locations will be open from 7AM to 8PM. Glendale School Board District D includes the eastern section of the City of Glendale and households from the 91205 and 91206 zip codes. District D includes the communities of Adams Hill, Camino San Rafael, Chevy Chase Canyon, Citrus Grove (partial), Emerald Isle, Glenoaks Canyon, Mariposa (partial), Somerset, and Woodbury (partial).
